Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree with a Major(s) in Environmental Science, Architecture, Engineering, Energy, or a related field is required.
- Master's Degree in related field is preferred.
- Professional credentials and licenses such as LEED Accredited Professional (AP), Customer Experience Management (CEM) is preferred.
- Knowledge of Climate Risk Measures and ability to establish a framework for measurement.
- Understanding a wide landscape of regulatory policy and compliance requirements.
- Professional experience with commercial real estate.
- 2+ years professional experience in Corporate Sustainability Management, Real Estate, Sustainability, or related fields.
- Excellent quantitative skills and established analytical ability.
- Demonstrated interest in capital markets and commercial real estate.
- Familiarity with building systems and local/state benchmarking regulations.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Performance-oriented with the ability to adapt to meet the needs of the company.
- Experience/familiarity with data management tools such as Resource Advisor.
- Experience with ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager.
- Experience managing relationships and setting expectations with sustainability and ESG teams, asset managers, property managers, and project teams.
- Ability to manage, manipulate and analyze utility billing and usage data (energy, water, waste, emissions) is preferred.
- Knowledge of and experience with leading industry partners such as US Green Building Council (USBGC), Urban Land Institute (ULI), Greenprint, Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB), Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) is preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive work environment.
Customer Service Skills
- Excellent customer service and people skills.
- Strong ability to communicate effectively in public (industry conferences, meetings with internal global teams).
Computer Skills
- Proficiency with MS Office applications, (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) & ability to learn new applications.
- Proficiency with reporting frameworks including GRESB, Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), and United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (UNPRI).
- Experience with key reporting frameworks including Task Force on Climate Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), and GRI among others is preferred.
- Proficiency with green building and building health certification rating systems including LEED, ENERGY STAR, Fitwel, WELL, IREM, etc. is preferred.
- Experience/familiarity with Microsoft collaboration tools including SharePoint and Teams is preferred.
