Description

Job Summary
Maintain, test and repair a variety of instrumentation and equipment. The primary job is to make sure that instruments, gauges and testing devices are calibrated correctly and give accurate readings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan, check, set up, and calibrate measurement equipment in a laboratory environment calibrating laboratory standards and basic Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE) and / or process equipment.
  • Use calibration standards to calibrate, adjust, certify, maintain, and repair M&TE / process equipment using approved calibration procedures, process specifications, equipment drawings, and M&TE / process equipment manufacturer's performance specifications.
  • Conduct routine tests, analyze data and document results.
  • Troubleshoot and recommend resolution of basic laboratory and test-related problems.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • CCT (Certified Calibration Technician) preferred.3- 5 year experience in Metrology.
  • 3-5 year of experience in calibrating measurement and test equipment.
  • Familiar with calibration tracking software.

  • Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings/blue prints.
  • Interpret and effectively flow down inspection criteria from customer prints and quality requirements.
  • Perform visual check of M&TE / process equipment for discrepancies and wear.
  • Perform in-house calibrations of applicable gages using jo-blocks and other reference standards.
  • Schedule all external calibrations for devices and equipment that cannot be performed in-house.
  • Identify, document, and route non-conforming items in accordance with metrology lab processes.
  • Sound organizational and analytical skills.
  • Sound understanding of multiple heat treat specifications to support thermal material processes.
  • Demonstrated strength in decision-making.
  • Capable of multi-tasking with sufficient ease to meet multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness working across organizational levels.
  • Ability to analyze and develop policies/procedures, Proficient with manufacturing processes and controls.
  • Must be accurate and detailed.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in use of computer applications including MS Office Suite, MS Project, Visio.
