About the Department | The Department of Crop and Soil Sciences' mission is to develop future leaders in crop, soil and environmental sciences, improve crop plants and products, devise effective and sustainable crop production systems, devise effective and sustainable soil management techniques in both agriculture and urban settings; and disseminate crop, soil, and environmental science knowledge for the benefit of users and producers of food, feed turf, biofuels and fiber in North Carolina, the nation and the world. Science for Success is an initiative working with multiple land grant institutions doing collaborative research and extension on a variety of topics in Soybeans to benefit farmers across the United States. |
Essential Job Duties | The Soybean Outreach Communication Specialist will work with the Science for Success, Crop Protection Network, and other collaborative soybean groups to develop and share content on best management practices to a variety of end users with growers as the focus end-user. The Communication Specialist would assist collaborative soybean project managers in building a cohesive communication strategy for growers and other end users to help transfer information in a concise, informative manner.
