Senior Quality Engineer / Quality Engineer (based on experience)

We are seeking qualified Quality Engineering candidates to work within some of the best product teams in our industry.  HBB’s product teams are responsible for providing innovative products and supporting them throughout the product life cycle.  This Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring and improving product functional quality and consumer satisfaction. 
Responsibilities of this position include:
 
  • Work with product development teams to establish and communicate quality specifications, drive continuous improvements, and consumer satisfaction for new and existing products
  • Use quality tools along with engineering knowledge and skills to identify root causes of problems, determine corrective and preventative actions, improve quality of product designs, and reduce returns.
  • Work with manufacturers and HBB Quality staff in China to implement product quality improvements
  • Travel to China as needed to fulfill the responsibilities of the position

Basic Qualifications:
 
  • A BS in ME, EE or related discipline is required; graduate degree preferred
  • 3-5 years’ experience as quality engineer or related product assurance, preferably with exposure to both manufacturing and corporate environments
  • Education or training in statistics and other quality tools is required; Six Sigma, Green Belt or Black Belt certification, and/or CQE certification is desired
  • Strong computer skills is desired;  experience with data analysis tools (such as MiniTab, Tableau and/or R) and experience with CAD are plusses
  • Must have demonstrated outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have the proven ability to set, balance and change priorities to reflect customer requirements 
  • Must be a self-starter with proven accomplishments and strong problem solving abilities
  • Must have demonstrated an above-average ability to participate in a team environment
  • Design engineering experience is preferred
