Job Description

The Heider College of Business at Creighton University invites applications for a tenure track faculty position in Accounting. Teaching load, which is likely to include a mix of undergraduate and graduate courses in managerial accounting or auditing, is five classes per academic year (reduced for Endowed Chairs). The College seeks a balanced teacher-scholar with a commitment to excellent teaching as well as publishable scholarship. The candidate will be expected to provide academic advising for students, as well as service to the College, University, and business community.

The Heider College of Business is accredited by the AACSB with an enrollment of approximately 1100 undergraduate and 400 graduate students. Approximately 70 full-time faculty members, complemented by part-time professors, serve our students. Degrees awarded include the BSBA, MBA, and several specialized masters degrees. The Department of Accounting is separately accredited by the AACSB and has been ranked in the top 25 undergraduate accounting programs by U.S. News and World Report. The Department has five tenure-track positions, with two endowed chairs, and four full-time instructors. The Department has a traditional as well as an accelerated Master of Accounting degree program. Student placement has averaged 99% over the most recent five-year period.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates should have an earned terminal degree (PhD, DBA) in Accounting and a professional accounting designation (CPA, CMA). Candidates are also required to have relevant professional (industry) work experience. A minimum of four years of professional work experience is preferred. Candidates should have a research, teaching and service record that supports appointment at the Associate or Full Professor rank.
