Job Description

The Transportation Department of the North Central Texas Council of Governments is seeking an Intern to help strengthen the region's engagement in air quality and transportation programs by analyzing performance data and providing marketing insights.

Applicants wishing to be considered for this position should apply online at. Qualified candidates must be attending an accredited college or university while in the position and able to work at the NCTCOG offices in Arlington, Texas. All submittals should include a cover letter summarizing work experience, as well as a current resume.

Ideal candidates must be able to work at least 25hours a week while attending school.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Organizing education and outreach analytics for regional air quality and transportation communications campaigns
  • Preparing campaign summary reports, proof of performance, marketing insights, and Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, and Threat analysis
  • Assisting with media coordination needs including brainstorming strategies, tracking invoices for communications purchases, and assisting with media buying and purchase management
  • Providing support for air quality and transportation communication campaigns and creative work
  • Assisting with planning and creating items for air quality and transportation events and committee meetings
  • Drafting website, social media, and publication content
  • Assisting in the development of graphic, visualization and communication elements of the Transportation Department's plans, events, programs, and projects
  • Serving as a representative of NCTCOG's goals and mission

Desired Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams; with proficiency in Excel desired
  • Good interpersonal skills and written communication skills, particularly with regard to email communications
  • Detail oriented, organized, creative, and possess ability to handle multiple tasks and tight deadlines
  • General knowledge of survey tools
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team environment
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics and Facebook Business preferred but not required
  • Experience with design software (Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop) would be a plus but not necessary


Required Education & Experience:

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university during employment. Pursuit of a degree in a related field desired.
  • No work experience required, at least one year of school-related experience preferred

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Compensation:

  • Minimum of $15.00 per hour
