Organization Overview:
The Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) is an economic development agency of the federal government and 13 state governments focusing on 423 counties across the Appalachian Region. ARC's mission is to innovate, partner, and invest to build community capacity and strengthen economic growth in Appalachia to help the Region achieve socioeconomic parity with the nation.
Position Summary:
ARC is seeking a Policy Advisorto perform and manage strategic initiatives and projects supporting the Federal Co-Chair in the areas of relationship management, project management, policy development & management, and communications. Responsible for providing recommendations on key regional development and community/economic development policy issues affecting the operations of the agency and ARC programs. This role will also coordinate the Federal Co-Chair's media/communications efforts with communications team. This position reports directly to the Federal Co-Chair, who is a Presidential appointee.
